As the days pass, we increasingly feel the arrival of autumn, and I trust this letter finds you in good health.
Every year, the October London Eza is held as the Hō-on-ko, the most important ceremony for Shin Buddhist followers.
Hō-on-ko is the central annual observance in which we gratefully remember what Shinran Shonin, the Founder of Shin Buddhism, has done for us. In expressing our deep gratitude for his benevolence, we recite the Name, Namu Amida Butsu.
This year, the Hō-on-ko will be held on Sunday, 26 October 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Three Wheels Temple. Prof. Masahiro SHIMODA is expected to give a talk via Zoom following the service.
Together, let us reaffirm the meaning of the Nenbutsu that Shinran Shonin and many predecessors have passed down to us for over 800 years, and let each of us share our joy and gratitude through pronouncing the Name, Namu Amida Butsu.
I warmly welcome your participation in this important Dharma gathering.
Palms together,
Rev. Kenshin ISHII
