The Head Priest said, “My true home to which I should return through the nembutsu is the moment I first met my good teacher.”
私の帰るところは、お念佛を通して、よき人との出会いのあの一瞬に帰るだけです。 （住職の言）

The Head Priest said, “When I find myself questioning life and death, I become aware that the Tathagata has already embraced my whole personality and will never abandon me. This is the true heart of compassion.”
生死の問題を自身に問う時、如来さまは既にして私の全人格を包みこんで離さぬと気づく。これが慈悲心である。 （住職の言）
No. 203
The Head Priest said, “Although the flame of a candle will always burn, flicker and finally go out, it calms our mind more than the light of an electric lamp.”
お灯明の火は常に燃焼し、動き、滅していきつつあるのに、電球の明かりより心が静まる。 （住職の言）
No. 204
The Head Priest said, “Unless you meet a good teacher, whatever action you take is like cleaning with a dirty cloth. It will merely cause your own karma to increase and repeat itself again and again.”
よき人との出会いがなければ、如何なる行動に出ても、あたかも汚れた雑巾で掃除をしているようなもの。自らの業を増幅させながら繰り返す。 （住職の言）

The Head Priest said, “The transmission of the Buddha-dharma from parents to children is a very important task to perform. It is vital that both parents and children should share something they can practise together.”
親子の佛法相続は大きな課題である。親子が共に行ずるものを持つことが大切です。 （住職の言）
No. 206
Takehiko Okada sensei, Emeritus Professor of Kyushu University, said, “The older I become the more aware I am of the greatness of nature and of my own lack of dutifulness towards my parents.”
年を取ればとるほど自然の偉大さを感じ、いよいよ「親不孝」であることを感じる。 （九大名誉教授・岡田武彦先生の言）

The Head Priest said, “It is Amida Buddha’s unconditional love that enables us ordinary beings to abandon our jiriki (self-power) simply in order that we can be given the nembutsu of tariki (Other-power).”
私たち凡夫に、自力を捨てしめ、ただ他力の念佛を授けてくださるのが、阿弥陀佛の大悲です。 （住職の言）

The Head Priest said, “It is through his prayer that we ordinary beings may attain unity of body and mind that the Buddha comes near us.”
私たち凡夫の身心の一致を願って、佛さまは近づいて下さるのです。 （住職の言）

The Head Priest said, “Living in Japan, an environment truly filled with love and thoughtfulness, we can still feel loneliness in our personal relationships. In such a situation, when all other means fail, it is only light that restores peace to our hearts.”
日本という本来思いやりある風土にあって、孤立する人間関係……、人がいかなる方法も手段も及ばない領域では、ただ「光」だけが心を鎮ませてくれる。 （住職の言）

The Head Priest said, “It is the ‘light’ of the Buddha that manifests the way in which everything in the universe returns to the mother – the one true origin.”
佛さまの「光」とは、宇宙の万物が母なる根源へ返るようなもの。 （住職の言）
