It is a great honour to invite you to the 176th London Eza in Commemoration of the Installation of Professor John White’s Monument, to be held at Three Wheels on Sunday, 29th June at 13:00.
As you may know, Prof. John White was one of the founders of Three Wheels and devoted the last thirty years of his life to its founding and development. It should also be remembered that he worked closely with Rev. Kemmyo Taira Sato, former Director of Three Wheels, to strengthen the spiritual bond between the UK and Japan—through their sincere efforts towards enabling the reconciliation of war veterans from both countries and also their bringing to life again the spiritual encounters between Prof. Alexander W. Williamson and the Japanese students who studied at UCL towards the end of the Edo period.
For this event, we will be joined by Venerable Master Chimyo TAKEHARA, the former Head Priest, and Venerable Keimei TAKEHARA, the current Head Priest of Shogyoji Temple, along with over fifteen Dharma friends from Japan. As Prof. White consistently emphasised the importance of spiritual exchange between Three Wheels and Shogyoji Temple in Japan—which he believed to be the lifeline of the Three Wheels Sangha—this occasion promises to be a profound opportunity for spiritual encounters under the Light of Amida Buddha, transcending national and linguistic boundaries.
As seating is limited, and unfortunately all seats are fully booked. So if you would like to join it, please do so on Zoom.
This is the Zoom link for all Three Wheels’ activities.

Rev. Kenshin Hiroshi ISHII
