Invitation to the 30th Anniversary of the Founding Three Wheels
& the 7th Memorial Service for Mrs. Hiroko Sato
Dear friends,
We are delighted to invite you to Three Wheels’ 30th anniversary celebration and the 7th Memorial Service for the late Mrs. Hiroko Sato, which will be held on Sunday, December 8th.
Inspired by the compassionate vision of Venerable Chimyo Takehara, former Head Priest of Shogyoji Temple in Japan, Three Wheels was founded in December 1994, just one year after Rev. Prof. Kemmyo Taira Sato, the first director, arrived in London.
This establishment event arose from a remarkable spiritual encounter between UCL professors and a Japanese businessman, Mr. Kenji Toda, who is a devoted Shogyoji Temple follower. It evolved into a unique gathering place for everyone, reflecting the beauty of unexpected connections and mutual understanding.
On this special day, we are honoured to welcome Venerable Keimei Takehara, the current head priest of Shogyoji who was instrumental in establishing Three Wheels and creating our Zen Garden, accompanied by his wife Mrs Sanae Takehara.
Due to the time difference between the United Kingdom and Japan, the event will be divided into two parts: one in the morning for Japanese speakers and one in the afternoon for English speakers.
We kindly ask that you confirm your attendance by Sunday, November 10th, using the Google form linked here.
(If you are not familiar with Google forms, please respond to this email.)
Join us to hear the stories of those involved in the founding of Three Wheels and to delve into the core of these encounters which reveal important truths about our human lives.
Warm regards.
Rev. Kenshin H. Ishii, Director of Three Wheels.
