We would first like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who took part in the 183rd London Eza, “Service to Pray for World Peace and Anglo-Japanese Reconciliation”, held on 6 September.
With the generous support and cooperation of everyone involved, the service was a deeply meaningful and successful gathering.
We were honoured to receive messages and welcome the attendance of people from different faiths, including Buddhists, Christians and Muslims. It became a precious opportunity for us to share, across religious and other differences, the spiritual legacy left to us by the veterans who have passed away.
We hope to continue our efforts to pass on this deepened sense of understanding and connection to the next generation.
The 184th London Eza will be held at 13:00 on Sunday, 18 October, at Three Wheels Temple.
On this occasion, we will observe the Hō-on-kō, one of the most important observances in Shin Buddhism (Jōdo Shinshū), expressing our profound gratitude to Shinran Shonin, the founder of Shin Buddhism, for his teachings and compassion.
This year, we are once again honoured to welcome Professor Masahiro Shimoda from Japan as our guest speaker.
Many of you will already know that Professor Shimoda is a world-renowned Buddhist scholar and one of the leading scholars in the field of Buddhist studies internationally. The opportunity to hear directly from a scholar of Professor Shimoda’s standing is a rare and precious one.
We sincerely hope that you will not miss this exceptional opportunity and that you will join us, together with your family and friends.
