We are pleased to announce that the next Pure Land Class, where we will study The Great Castle Rajagriha, will take place on Thursday, 8 October.
The Great Castle Rajagriha was written by Venerable Reion Takehara, the 13th Head Priest of Shōgyōji Temple. This work explores the subtle and profound meaning of Other Power faith (Japanese: Tariki shinjin) in Jōdo Shinshū, or Shin Buddhism.
During the class, we will read and study together the English translation of this text prepared by Rev. Kemmyo Sato.
Please note that, due to the opening time of the Buddhist Society, we kindly ask you to arrive by 18:40 at the latest. Chanting will begin at 18:45.
The class is held at The Buddhist Society on the second Thursday of each month.
